Multi Theft Stories is a co-op story mode seamlessly integrated into free roam, introducing new features and a new atmosphere that makes it a unique experience, while aiming to stay true to the Grand Theft Auto formula.
It is a labor of love. A very personal project, tribute to a game which for some reason I have never let go of over the years.
• Mission Editor [PLANNED]
The flagship of this gamemode. The mission editor will be used to devise all official storyline missions on the server, and will also be available for players to create their own and share with the community.
Once feature-complete, it will be powerful enough for even a perfect recreation of any single-player mission – with the exception of cutscenes made using motion capture.
• Weapon System [MOSTLY DONE]
Everything in the default system has been scrapped. Weapon skill is no longer limited to the Gangster and Hitman milestones, as every integer change in skill will change how the weapon is handled.
Skills have been added for clubbed, piercing, slashing and mechanical weapons.
The damage, rate of fire, accuracy, clip size and range of firearms are all able to be modified using attachments.
• Bigger Arsenal [MOSTLY DONE]
All weapons from other 3D-era GTA titles have been added to the game, without replacing existing ones. A number of community-made lore-friendly weapons have been added as well.
Ammu-Nation is packing these days.
• Player Inventory [MOSTLY DONE]
To encourage strategic thinking, weapon slots are now limited. The player may only carry one two-handed weapon and two one-handed weapons of choice.
Two other slots are immediately available for any melee weapons, throwables, and special items. But as the player progresses, another three slots will be made available.
Ammunition is also more limited, but not to a great extent.
• Player Movement [MOSTLY DONE]
Players are now able to shootdodge with most one-handed weapons, roll forwards and, when aiming a two-handed weapon, roll backwards and to the sides. They can leap higher according to how long the “jump” key is held down for – up to a limit defined by player stats and other variables such as current health and remaining stamina.
Pressing the roll key close to the ground after a fall will soften the landing.
• Car Theft [DONE]
All vehicles that spawn on the map may be stolen and sold at a chop shop. If the vehicle is parked, it might be locked. Or the owner might show up to briefly chase you. The value of the vehicle will affect how wide the police’s search will be, which will affect what chop shops you will be able to take the vehicle to. If it’s within the search radius, you will have to take it further away. The police stops searching after 15 minutes. After this period of time the vehicle may be sold at any chop shop.
• Heat [WIP]
Every action the player takes in the game draws some level of attention, generating heat with one or more factions. Heat affects how visible you are to other players.
Criminal activity in general will make you more visible to the police. Committing crimes in gang territory will draw the attention of the gang which controls it.
Police Heat will also determine everything about the AI cops that hunt down the player.
• Gang Warfare [PLANNED]
Every player may join one of the four pre-established gangs in Los Santos. Each has its own set of jobs and benefits.
• Character Customization [WIP]
One of the most beloved features in single-player really packs an extra punch here. Besides all of the customization options in the base game, players may change their character’s head, face and skin tone.
A number of new items of clothing and new tattoos have been added as well.
• Vehicle Tuning [PLANNED]
With over 50 various upgrades to both performance and safety, any vehicle in the game can be tuned to compete with the best – for a price.
• Graphical Improvements [PLANNED]
Limited to small corrections in models and texture improvements that match the originals.
Sense of speed is improved through use of radial blur and more noticeable changes to FOV. Optional shaders make water look better, for some.
• Other Cities [PLANNED]
Players will be able to fly to slightly modified versions of the Vice City and Liberty City maps from JSeries (by the illustrious CodyJ).
• Modular Cities [PLANNED]
• Empire Building [PLANNED]
As seen in Vice City Stories, set in Las Venturas.
• Law Enforcement [PLANNED]
• Sandbox Mode [PLANNED]
Free roam with no restrictions and plenty of cheat codes. Players can join the public lobby or create a private one.
There is no telling what will happen.
